The AlbertaQuits Helpline is a free, confidential, and non-judgmental support service to help people cut back or quit using tobacco products.
The toll-free helpline (1.866.710.7848) is answered by trained cessation counsellors who will:
- Provide your patients with information about quitting tobacco use
- Help them make a quit plan and deal with cravings and triggers
- Offer ongoing support so patients stay motivated.
The helpline is available 8 a.m. – 8 p.m., seven days a week.
AlbertaQuits also has online resources patients can use on their own and free group and text support:
- AlbertaQuits by Text is a three-month text messaging program that delivers motivational messages, advice, and tips.
- QuitCore is a group support program of six 90-minute sessions that are guided by a trained facilitator (in-person groups are on hold due to COVID-19, but online groups are available).
