Access Appointment Service
The Primary Care Centre’s Access Appointment Service offers your patients temporary support in place of a walk-in clinic or ER.
Available 365 days a year, its hours of operation are 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on weekends and holidays.
How to refer
The Access Appointment Service is available by referral and appointment only:
- All members can refer their patients to the Access Appointment Service via the CWC Primary Care Centre referral form.
- Health Link can also direct patients who call 811 when their physician’s practice is closed to the service.
Please refer to the Access Appointment Service inclusion-exclusion criteria for assistance on making an appropriate referral.
Program details
The Access Appointment Service is available to:
- Our members’ patients who need medical care within 24 hours but are unable to obtain an appointment with their family physician
- Unattached patients within our PCN’s geographic boundaries
Through the Access Appointment Service:
- A summary of the visit is faxed to the patient’s family physician after the appointment.
- Patients receive temporary support in place of a walk-in clinic or ER.
- Patients are seen by CWC PCN physician members.
After-hours coverage
The Access Appointment Service (which includes evening and weekend appointments and on-call physician) provides members with coverage that meets the CPSA’s standard for after-hours care and emergency test results.
