Can’t seem to find enough hours in the day? We provide complimentary subscriptions to the online clinical support tools UpToDate and Lexidrug (formerly Lexicomp) so you can get answers — and back to your patients — fast.

Lexidrug

Lexidrug is an online clinical support tool with point-of-care drug information and clinical content, such as clinical practice guidelines, IV compatibility, drug comparisons, and other tools.

A wide array of databases enables our members to quickly locate information on an extensive range of topics, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric dosing and guidelines, patient education, international drugs, infectious diseases, and pregnancy and lactation.

The basic version of Lexidrug available through your UpToDate subscription only contains 20 per cent of the information in the full version of Lexidrug. Use the full version for:

• More comprehensive drug information, including allergies and for pregnancy and lactation
• Patient handouts in multiple languages

Accessing Lexidrug

Access is provided to your Lexidrug subscription through your clinic’s public IP address. To find out your public IP address and gain access to Lexidrug:

1. Open a web browser when you are at your clinic
2. Search “What’s my IP address”
3. Email the IP address to Member Services & Engagement.

Once it has been registered with Lexidrug, you will receive an email containing details for how to access Lexidrug when you’re at your clinic.

You can also access your Lexidrug subscription from any location via the mobile app.

UpToDate

UpToDate is an evidence-based clinical decision support resource that can assist healthcare practitioners in making decisions at the point of care.

The knowledge in UpToDate is:

• Evidence-based and continuously updated
• Presented as a comprehensive synthesis of the evidence followed by recommendations that can be acted on at the point of care

UpToDate combines an advanced publishing platform with the rigour of a sophisticated editorial process managed by a faculty of accomplished physician authors and editors who are renowned leaders in their specialties.

UpToDate also offers subscribers:

• Mobile access options
• Tools and graphics
• Patient information articles
• And more

It is accredited as a continuing education resource by many organizations including colleges, associations, and authorities from around the world. Activity on UpToDate can qualify for Mainpro+ credits.

UpToDate access

Please email your Physician Liaison with a request for an UpToDate subscription and the email address you want the subscription to use.

You will receive a confirmation email from the Member Services Coordinator, as well as UpToDate, with information on how to activate your subscription. If you do not activate your subscription within 30 days, it may be cancelled.
