Short-term locum sought for summer

Blue Diamond Medical is looking for a short-term locum physician to join our team this summer (2024).

The clinic is located in the affluent suburb of West Springs (southwest Calgary) and is generally an appointment-only clinic that is fully staffed and equipped to deal with up to 5,000 patients — serviced by four doctors.

Furthermore, you will be supported by a Clinic Manager, Clinic Coordinator, and three fully trained MOAs who are all fluent in several languages and many forms of relevant technology. This setup allows the locum to determine their own hours and maintain a good work-life balance, while efficiently managing patient loads and needs.

The successful applicant will be responsible for one of our current doctor’s patient loads while he is away for a maximum of four months. You will be responsible for approximately 1,000 patients and can take walk-in patients if you desire. A typical day is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with patients seen in 15-minute blocks. The locum can expect to have full days five days a week and can extend/alter hours as they wish.
