CME opportunity: Mosaic PCN’s domestic abuse webinar

On Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 6 p.m., Mosaic PCN invites you to attend a one-hour webinar on Sagesse — Breaking the Cycle of Abuse & REAL Talk.

Sagesse empowers individuals, organizations, and communities to disrupt structures of domestic abuse by helping people develop skills, such as through their REAL Talk guide.

Registration is open to all PCN physician members and clinical health staff.

Attend to enhance your knowledge around coercive control and the role of informal supports:

• Defining domestic abuse
• Defining coercive control (illustrating experiences and examples of tactics)
• Discussing men’s experiences of domestic abuse in Canada (through statistical exploration and anecdotal impact)
• Calling “men-in” to begin exploring their masculinity (discussion around statistics and possible explanations and around men growing from unhealthy behaviours)
• Clarifying the role of informal supports (how informal supports play a role for those who experience abuse and how informal supports play a role for those using abusive behaviours)
