MAPS update: Second design workshop

Feb 7, 2025

Representatives of our PCN joined Alberta Health (AH) and other stakeholders on Jan. 29 to discuss the updated, proposed elements for regional networks — elements that mirror many of our PCN’s services.

AH solicited feedback on several topics, including the proposed:

  • Regional services required from all regional networks (patient navigation and care coordination, support for mental health and addiction, chronic disease prevention and management, and extended- and after-hours care)
  • Regional network key roles and responsibilities (support to PMH, regional services, population services, system coordination and integration, and unattached patient services)
  • Governance (Board composition, physician involvement, and Board member criteria)

Our PCN was represented by three Board members, our Executive Director, and a department director.

Next steps: AH will continue stakeholder engagement until March, with recommendations then slated to go to government in April.

You can view progress on MAPS on the public dashboard or read the recent winter e-newsletter for a summary of regional network design engagement and other topics.
