Our PCN became the first in Alberta on June 17 to participate in the Alberta Health (AH) consultations with PCN leadership for the transition to regional networks (part of the MAPS recommendations).
First raised at the May AH town hall on the PCN-regional network transition, these consultations, which will also include engagement with family physicians, are part of the AH process to design and implement the regional networks.
In the consultation meeting, members of our PCN’s leadership — Dr. Vincent Vong, Board Chair; Dr. Amanda Wang, Board Vice-Chair; Christopher Cameron, Executive Director; and Lisa Bergerman, Director of Member Services & Engagement — shared information about our PCN, including our:
- Strategic alignment with the objectives for PCNs and the elements in the MAPS reports (as outlined in our business plan)
- Many critical programs and services that support members, team-based care, PMH, and connections with the health neighbourhood
- Membership growth and satisfaction, membership model, and the Mutual Accountability Agreement
- Patient populations’ diverse and changing needs and our efforts to provide support
Physician engagement is expected to take place in the fall.
We will continue to engage with AH whenever possible and help keep you updated on progress.
Reminder: The answers we have for now about the transition are in the FAQ from the May town hall.
