CounsellingCounselling is available for:

  • Family members or friends coping with a relative or significant other who is suffering from a mental health issue or substance use concern
  • Those struggling with grief and loss from death or non-death experiences (e.g., job loss)
  • Individual survivors, families, and couples who are grieving a loss to suicide

Cost: Fees for counselling services are based on a sliding scale; no one is refused service due to financial reasons.

Individuals can book appointments online through Community Connect YYC, call 403.297.1708, or email [email protected].

Peer Support: The free Peer Support service provides the opportunity for anyone to talk with someone with lived experiences of mental health or substance use concerns.

By engaging with a peer supporter, individuals can:

  • Make a connection with someone with lived experience
  • Increase their sense of engagement and belonging
  • Move through their recovery journey to develop skills and build resiliency

People can access this service by calling 403.297.1402 or emailing [email protected].

CMHA Calgary will provide a timely response (based on volume received) between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Friday and between 1 and 7 p.m. on Tuesdays.

Recovery College: The Recovery College focuses on helping people recognize and develop their own resourcefulness to support themselves or their loved one’s recovery journey.

It has more than 45 free courses, which are currently delivered online.

Anyone can review upcoming courses and register on the college’s website.
