Specialist Link

Collaboration is key, which is why our PCN helps connect members with Specialist Link, a real-time, physician-only tele-advice line including clinical care pathways and other resources that support family physicians to care for their patients and help improve communication and collaboration between primary and specialty care.

Tele-advice

You can request tele-advice online by visiting the Specialist Link website and hovering your mouse over the specialty list in the tele-advice section. Click and complete the fields to submit a request. You can also call 403.910.2551 or 1.844.962.5465.

Services are available Monday to Friday (except holidays), 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (chronic pain, child and adolescent and geriatric psychiatry, maternal fetal medicine, refugee health and respirology until 4 p.m .). Calls are returned within one hour.

Clinical pathways

Visit the Specialist Link website’s clinical pathways and click on the appropriate specialty in the clinical pathways section to reveal related pathways.

Note: Pathways are based on evidence-based best practice but do not override the responsibility of providers to make decisions based on their clinical judgment.
